TEAM INDIA TO ASSEMBLE IN NEW DELHI ON JUNE 5 FOR THE IND VS SA SERIES | Cricket News | Fantasy Cricket League

After the successful end of the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League, Team India shifts its focus on the upcoming T20I series against South Africa. Team India will assemble in New Delhi on June 5 as per the instructions of BCCI which is the first venue of the upcoming series.

On the other hand, the South African team will arrive on 2nd June to encounter each other in the first match in Delhi on June 9. Team India is scheduled to play T20s against South Africa from June 9th to 19th and this will be a five-match series.

The other venues for the match are Cuttack (June 12), Visakhapatnam (June 14), Rajkot (June 17), and Bengaluru (June 19).

In the absence of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, K.L. Rahul will lead the team alongside other all-format players. Rishabh Pant will be the vice-captain for the series.

BCCI has already announced the squad in blue for the upcoming match on May 22, 2022. The players are K L Rahul ©, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ishan Kishan, Deepak Hooda, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant (vice-captain) (WK), Dinesh Karthik (WK), Hardik Pandya, Venkatesh Iyer, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel, Ravi Bishnoi, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Harshal Patel, Avesh Khan, Arshdeep Singh and Umran Malik.

Umran Malik, Arshdeep & Avesh Khan are set to debut in this series.  They got selected as a result of producing back-to-back outstanding performances in the last IPL. Umran Malik was selected as the emerging player of this season with his monstrous performance in the bowl.

Wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik is also back after a long gap and that too was part of his thunderous performances for the Bangalore squad. The team is looking for a bang as everyone is eyeing the coming T20 WorldCup with the key players being rested.

The players will be tested regularly for Covid 19 and there will be no crowd restrictions like earlier. After the end of the Indian Premier League, now fans can witness their favorite players battling for their respective countries.
