Rahul Tripathi – The Underrated

Rahul Tripathi, definitely the unsung hero of IPL displayed a master class show against his formal franchise leading his team to a triumphant victory. This man had started his IPL career in the year 2017 and it’s still a mystery why the selection committee hasn’t even picked his name at least once.
Having a strike rate of more than 158, this versatile player is knocking bowls all around the grounds.

His bid amount shows clearly that many teams were keeping their eyes on him, which made Sunrisers shell out a whopping amount of INR 8.5 crores for this uncapped Indian player.

He can be used in any position, opener, middle order, or finisher in death overs. That’s what sets him apart from others.

Earlier in the match, Hyderabad was chasing 176 runs and lost skipper Williamson and Abhishek Nayar quickly. Then came Tripathi who changed the whole momentum of the match. Varun Chakravarthy was the one to be burned by his firepower. Tripathi hit Chakravarthy for four and two consecutive sixes making the task easy for Sunrisers. He reached the 50-run mark from just 21 bowls.  He has been totally impressive and dominant throughout the match.

Rahul Tripathi – The Underrated

The selectors can’t keep their eyes away from him anymore, as he is garnering the eyes of fans, critics, and former players. Harbhajan Singh himself had come out in support of him stating that he had played with him for 2 years at Kolkata and even trained with him for quite a long period of time.

He is a fitness freak; he is second to Virat Kohli among players who are taking a keen approach to fitness. He even said if there is an Indian player who can beat Kohli in fitness, then Tripathi is the man to achieve that feat.

The IPL is only reaching the middle and there is a month more for the group stages. If he can shine throughout the tournament, we can see him wearing the Indian cap in the coming world cup hopefully. Let’s wait and see what the future waits for this versatile batsman.
